Hurricane Irma Information

Business Disaster Assistance Available:

Lake County Economic Development has established a hotline (352-253-9998) to assist businesses with Hurricane Irma recovery efforts. 

FEMA named Lake County eligible for Individual Assistance.  

Residents can begin applying for assistance:

  • Residents who sustained losses can begin applying for assistance by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov. Residents are also encouraged to download the FEMA App to begin the registration process.  Click on Disaster Resources.
  • If you do not have access to the internet, you may register by calling 1-800-621-3362 or 1-800-621-FEMA.
  • The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.(local time) seven days a week until further notice.

Individuals and households may be eligible for Transitional Shelter Assistance, if:

  • They register with FEMA for assistance
  • They pass identify verification
  • Their pre-disaster primary residence is located in a geographic area that is designated for TSA and occupancy is verified
  • As a result of the disaster, they are displaced from their pre-disaster residence and they are currently not living in their primary residence.

Eligible individuals have the ability to locate a participating hotel/motel online by visiting www.femaevachotels.com.
